From Afar (a poem)

You’re beautiful
In body, mind and soul
So much to desire
To wish to crave and hold
 
But, no matter how
Our connection grows
A cold biology tells me
It can never be so
 
We are who we are
And will always be
Born to love deep
But just differently
 
I ache for you
But must let you live as you are
Even if that means
I can only admire from afar
