“A Season of Song” By Sarah Puhala

Sarah Puhala is a talented actress, singer and director who I have had the please of knowing for several years. Sarah got her she has B.A. in Theatre Arts from the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University and has a resume that would blow your socks off. So, to say she is an artist would be a massive understatement.

Only recently, however, did Sarah decide to venture into something a little different. She took a shot at using some art supplies previously owned by her late Aunt Mary. And the result is spectacular!

Take a look for yourself at the artwork she titled “A Season of Song” drawn by this young lady who modestly suggests that drawing is not her specialty.

And for more on Sarah and her work, you can check out her official website at and you can find her on the IMDB too.

Birthday reflections and the arts

Well, today is my birthday

I’m now the ripe old age of 33. Wow, I can’t believe it. It seems like time goes so fast. To get back to the point here, I got to thinking. I wonder who many notable people in the arts share my special day. I did a little research and the number is actually quite extensive. That being the case, I decided to include a very brief list for your enjoyment.

Why do so many rappers become actors?

Several years ago

if someone had mentioned names like LL Cool J or Ludacris to you, assuming you follow popular music, you’d probably associate these guys with the rap music scene. But not today.

There comes a time in a rap artists’ life that they have to “move on” to another venture. And for many of them, for some reason, they seem to transition rather well into acting. Why? Well, like most things in life, I doubt there is any single answer. That being the case, I’m going to offer my two cents worth anyway.

It’s very possible that these guys and girls slide into acting because they are natural performers. Many of them also have created personas for themselves and being able to do such a thing is a huge asset in the acting world. I’m sure that experience with scenes in an number of music videos can be a beneficial to draw from as well.

Here is a brief list of some of the musicians turned actors and actresses who have made this career progression.

Chris “Ludacris” Bridges

Queen Latifah

Will Smith

Mark Wahlberg
